Straw Rocket Craft

Let’s start with a fun rocket-building craft! Each camper will make their own Straw Rocket to take home.

• Cut a small rectangle of paper and roll it tightly around a thin straw to form the rocket body. Tape the edge so it stays closed.

• Pinch and tape one end shut to trap the air.

• Invite campers to add paper fins, rocket windows, or decorations to make each rocket unique.

• Once finished, slide the small rocket tube onto a larger straw. Blow through the straw to launch the rocket!

• Make changes to the design until it travels as far as possible.
